I Found the Best Version of Me and I Can Help You Too

Hello new friend,

If you don’t know me yet, my name is Jodie- a Christian, a middle school educator, a devoted dog mom, a former foster parent, and now, I've taken on an exciting new role as a health coach.

About six years ago, I felt a deep calling to become a mom, specifically a foster mom. I got many mixed opinions from people…some told me I was crazy to do it on my own and others told me I would be a blessing to a child. I decided to follow my heart and dedicated my time and effort into being a foster parent. I welcomed children into my home for weekends, weeks, months and one kiddo even stayed for 3 years. I did everything I could to provide for them, understanding that while I'm not perfect, I gave them all of me, all the time. I thought this is what moms do. This is what my mom did for me, my brother, and now her grandchildren.

Yet, in giving everything, I lost myself. It was not the fault of the children; it was my own doing. I sacrificed my confidence, zest for life, hobbies, faith, and overall well-being.  Looking in the mirror at the end of my fostering journey, I saw a stranger staring back at me—a woman drained, ashamed, unhealthy, sad, and lost. I realized that in giving everything, I had lost myself and shifted so much focus away from my happiness and health, but I wasn’t sure how to fix it. I retreated from the world, sought therapy, attempted to create healthier habits, and tried new exercise ideas.

Eventually, I stumbled upon a program that offered a glimmer of hope. A program that kickstarted my transformative health journey, became a game-changer in my life, and has ignited the fire I had lost  to achieve my health goals like never before.

This plan combined a simple and delicious nutrition plan and an essential support system. The nutrition plan helped me shed 70 pounds and counting. I was no longer obsessing over points, macros, or calories. Instead the program educated me how to properly nourish my body with six meals a day, to remain hydrated, exercise regularly, and get adequate sleep. In addition, the support system supported me in a way that was different from that of friends and family. I have a coach and a community of like minded people focusing on improving a lot of the same things I was working on. They also support me and keep me on track to achieve my goal of achieving a healthier lifestyle, and not just getting me back to the person I was before, but creating a new and improved me! I leaned into this group of people for suggestions and support and was able to slowly restore fragments of my former self, rediscover who I am, and continue my health journey. I gained a newfound passion and purpose.

I truly believe that this program was so successful for me because of the overwhelming amount of support I received.  Therefore, I have decided to pay it forward and become a Health and Wellness Coach. As someone with a background and teaching, who thrives on seeing others succeed, I want to share the feeling of joy of success, and help everyone reach their ultimate health goals. I am here to support you on your journey towards a brighter, healthier future.
